Maine invites Ally to his next concert, where she performs with him on stage. After the show, Maine introduces Ally to his brother, Bobby (Elliott), and his manager, Rez Gavron (Chappelle). Ally’s career begins to take off, and she soon signs a record deal with Rez.

However, as Ally’s career skyrockets, Maine’s alcoholism and drug addiction worsen. He begins to neglect his health, and his performances begin to suffer. Ally tries to help him get sober, but Maine resists her attempts.
